Weekly Recap | Back to Business

Although I’ve still had the lingering effects of sickness this week, it was time to get back to business. As you guys know by now, I can’t sit still very long!

We jumped right back into things on Monday and shot a couple of outfits I’d been waiting to get around to. The sun peeked out later in the day and we got some great photos! I needed that boost of sunlight so badly. It is so difficult for me to be creative and inspired when it’s so gray outside. Anyone else?

On Wednesday, I gritted my teeth and finally launched my personal styling and shopping services. I was SO nervous and felt a great deal of imposter syndrome with this launch. I have no formal education in fashion and I wasn’t sure if anyone would trust me with their personal style. But as I hit launch, I was reminded of all of the informal experience I’ve had in fashion over the years. That reminder, mixed with positive feedback from my community, was exactly what I needed. I’m so excited to be offering these services and helping others redefine their style and feel great about their wardrobe when they go to get dressed in the morning.

It felt great to get back to business, but it was also a bit challenging to focus with Miss Mara around. Girlfriend was cranky this week! We weren’t sure if she was a little bit sick or just working through developmental stuff. During the day, she was mostly fine, but in the evenings, she was extremely unhappy. Lucky for us, she still slept like a champ all night, but for about two hours before bed, she would cry and scream and nothing made her happy. Hopefully this is a short phase that we’ll be out of soon!
