The Products That Have Gotten Me Through Pregnancy

Pregnancy is not for the faint of heart! The past 9+ months have been a battle. Worth it? Of course, but difficult nonetheless. I don’t know how I would have made it through without these items! These are some of the products, foods and household items that have gotten me through pregnancy with Blob.

+ Sneakers // Up until about week 34, I was wearing my favourite adidas sneakers daily to walk the dogs and get exercise. It was hot out, but it was much more difficult to walk in sandals because of the added weight. After week 34 though, I couldn’t get these sneakers on anymore! My feet were way too swollen.

+ Heating Pad // This item has been great throughout pregnancy! I’ve had plenty of lower back pain, and my trusty heating pad has come in handy at every turn.

+ Baby Books // I didn’t want information overload, but I did appreciate having some insight into what’s to come. I read Twelve Hours Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old and The Rebel Mama’s Handbook for (Cool) Moms.

+ HATCH Belly Oil // This belly oil was gifted to me and I quickly fell in love with the scent and feel of it. It’s meant to prevent stretch marks – we will see!

+ Foot Bath // My dad lent me his foot bath in the third trimester to help with my swollen and achy feet. When the temperatures reached 40+ degrees here, I was so grateful for this thing! We filled it up with cold water and ice to help me cool down.

+ Prenatals // I tried a different prenatal vitamin in the beginning of pregnancy (can’t remember which one) and with my nausea, it was a struggle to take it each day. I switched early on to the OLLY Prenatal vitamin and these were so good! Just like candy.

+ Fruits, crackers & more! // When it comes to foods that I craved in pregnancy, I don’t know if it was a craving so much as convenience. In the first trimester, I was constantly nauseous and didn’t eat a lot. I lived on crackers and the occasional piece of cheese – it was rough. After that subsided, I really made up for it. I ate a ton of fruit, including peaches, cantaloupe, watermelon and bananas. I also ate chocolate chip waffles and lemon poppy seed muffins almost every morning!

And my absolute favourite product that has gotten me through pregnancy… HATCH Down, Girl Soothing Leg + Foot Relief. This stuff is gold. I’ve been rubbing it on my sore knees, ankles and feet for weeks at bedtime and it gently cools and relives some of the pain. Pretty sure I’ll be stocking up on this post-pregnancy as well!

A popular item that I did not use in this pregnancy was a pregnancy pillow. I don’t think I would have been very comfortable with it, and I flip around far too much to stay in that big ‘C’. I did not regret skipping that item! What item do I wish I had purchased? A shoe horn! Damn, that would have come in handy.
