I’m sitting here writing this out of office post and thinking, what even happened this month? I think I blacked out haha. Entrepreneurship + babies make for a wild ride!
July was a crazy month altogether. I had more partnerships on the go than ever before, many of which required a lot of content. I was also very pregnant and uncomfortable! That is… until July 21st when we welcomed a baby girl. Then things got even crazier!
Something that has always been important to me when I’ve thought about having kids is that I continue to have a life and goals outside of motherhood. I am so excited to be Mara’s mom and to take amazing care of her, but it is also important to me that she grows up watching me work hard and make my own dreams come true so that she knows she can do that too.
Entrepreneurship is a more than full-time job. Parenthood is a more than full-time job. Plus, there is life in-between! I know it won’t be easy, but I know that we can handle it and that I can grow this business and reach my professional goals while also being the best mom to Mara (and Odie & Fenn!).
I have stepped away from some freelance client work to fully invest my time in being a parent, partner and lifestyle blogger. Saying goodbye to that income every month is SCARY, but I know I have the drive to replace it quickly, in something I’m more passionate about.
Entrepreneurship + babies… this is going to be fun!
some wins from this month
- Collaborated on a giveaway with some great gals on IG.
- Started the process of a cool product collaboration with one of my favourite brands!
- Published a ton of sponsored content. I can’t believe I got to work with so many awesome brands as I was preparing to welcome a baby. I even shot one of the campaigns the day that I started early labour – lol.
- My photos were featured on the BAE. The Label website.
- Kirby and I worked together on a bunch of campaigns, including this one with Kilne Cookware.
- HAD A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL!
- Published 14 blog posts in July. These were my top three blog posts of the month:
