Wellness Wednesday: Nike Run Club Review

With local gyms and fitness studios currently closed, I am taking it to the wide open streets and getting a good run in! And I’m using the Nike Run Club App to do it.

Running for the sake of running has never been a strength of mine. I like running after a soccer ball or if I’m racing Odie, but I’ve never been very good at running just to run.

Enter: The Nike Run Club App.

I’ve been using the Nike Training Club App for a few years now, and I really enjoy it, so when I was looking to start running and working on my speed, I turned to Nike Run Club.

Nike Run Club Review

This app tracks your runs and offers guided runs to help you understand what your pace should be and how you should be feeling. The guided runs also keep you focused!

When I started using this app, I just used it to track my runs. I’d play some music and run whatever route I felt like. It was great to look back after the run and see what points I slowed down at, what my pace was and the total distance I ran.

The only problem was that I wasn’t really sure if the results that I was seeing were good or not. Was I running at a good pace? Was it too easy? Too difficult? How could I judge my run?

That’s when I started using the guided runs in the app. On the guided runs, you still choose your route, but you base it off of the total time of the run you’ve chosen. The main difference is that the guided runs have a coach talking into your ear, letting you know how fast to run, how you should be feeling at different stages of the run and they offer encouragement.

I like using the guided runs because it’s nice to have someone telling me when I should be speeding up or slowing down, or telling me that if I’m breathing so heavy that I can’t speak clearly, I need to ease up. It’s nice to have some guidance on a run, just like it is nice to have a trainer guide you at the gym.

The Nike Run Club app also has guided runs that teach you how to build endurance for long runs and guides you through intervals to increase your speed. I’m pumped to see that my pace has improved since I started using the app!

The best part? It’s FREE. You can get running advice from some of the best Nike run coaches for free.

I love having this app as a part of my wellness routine and I can’t wait to hit my goals!
