Welcome to my weekly recap! We’re kickstarting a new year with a weekly recap here on the blog because a lot of the feedback that I got was that you guys want to see more Mara, everyday life, Odie and Fenn and kind of just what we’re up to. I figured this would be a good way to share what’s happening with my family each week, as well as share my outfits and other random things I’m loving. Into it?
Let’s dive into week one of 2022.
We had a wonderful new year celebration with friends and family and it was a great way to kick things off. On New Year’s Eve, we took a nice long drive out to a friend’s new place and Mara got to see her gal pal. We then came home and had both of our siblings and their families over to play some games and hangout. I stayed up until 10pm and I was damn proud of that!
It’s been extremely cold in Kelowna for the last few weeks and we’ve had a ton of snow. We’ve been bundling up and taking the dogs for their daily walks with Mara snoozing away in her new wagon/sled. Other than those walks and shoveling the driveway, we’ve stayed inside to keep warm! Lots of snuggles and binge-watching over here. I’ve started and finished both Big Little Lies and The White Lotus (anyone else think this one had a very odd finale?).
Mara has been super playful lately and loving all the toys she got for Christmas. Girlfriend got spoiled! She’s also very into the dogs and has started reaching out to pet them. Fenn immediately starts licking her hand and Odie sits patiently for a pet and then continues on his merry way.
It’s been a low-key, yet productive start to the new year. I’m very excited about some new things coming to the blog and my brand in general. I’m also feeling refreshed and ready to create on a more regular basis again. I also shared some 2022 fashion trends on the blog, which was so fun to work on!

+ We picked up a cheap Disney princess puzzle play mat for Mara to play on and practice rolling. She’s showing signs that she wants to crawl soon as well, so we thought it would be good to have! Here is a bigger puzzle play mat that would work as well.
