Turning 29: Entering The Final Year Of My Twenties

Just a few days until I turn 29 and prepare for the last year of my twenties… WHAT! To be honest, 25-29 has felt like a complete blur. So much has happened in these four years, including buying a house, adopting a dog, starting a business, meeting the love of my life and becoming pregnant with our first baby. How much more do you think I can fit into my twenties?

Lifestyle blogger Sammy Hill shares her thoughts on turning 29 and a birthday wish list.

The first five years of my twenties were full of everything you would expect. College, partying, dating, making friends, losing friends, multiple jobs and a very abrupt, unexpected move to another province. I learned so much about myself, what I did and didn’t want in those years, and I don’t think I’d be where I am now without those experiences. I appreciate that when my kids grow up, I’ll be able to speak from experience to help them through break-ups, career confusion and how to get through a long workday hungover.

There were so many valuable lessons to learn in my twenties, and I’m sure that 29 will be no different – especially with a baby on the way. I’ll learn how to be a mom, learn to grow both my business and Kirby’s business, and still find time for the things that I enjoy. I’m sure that those lessons will continue into my thirties as well!

One thing that I know about turning 29 is that it’s going to be my best year yet. I know I’ve probably said that most years (except 23 – that was not my best year and I’m pretty sure I knew that going into it – lol), but I can really feel it this year. I am positive that it is going to come with many challenges, but I’m also optimistic about the growth of my business, myself and my little family.

Oh! And I promised in last year’s ‘28 Things I’ve Learned In 28 Years‘ post that I would update you on my ‘drink more water’ goal. I’m doing it, guys. I’m drinking more water than before. Wow, your twenties really teach you what’s important in life!

And what is a birthday without a wish list? Consider this my edition of ‘What I Want This Month‘ for May.
