Must Have Phone Apps and Digital Organization

My iPhone XR has essentially become another appendage of my body. It is always at my fingertips and I spend a good chunk of my day on it. Seriously, what was life like before smartphones?

I have a variety of apps on my phone that help me with work and tasks throughout the day, and I thought I’d share some of my most used phone apps.

Social

Instagram – By far my most used app is Instagram. I have loved Instagram since I first discovered it. I am on and off Instagram all day, every day, posting, engaging and getting inspiration. I share a lot of our home renovation progress and OOTD on Instagram Stories, and I ask a Daily Question Monday-Friday.

Facebook – Having worked in the news industry and in marketing for small businesses, I have spent a lot of time on Facebook. Now that I am a blogger, that’s no different. I share all of my blog posts to my business page and that is where I get the majority of my blog traffic from.

Pinterest – Pinterest is such a fun place to go for inspiration! I love finding new recipes, outfit ideas and motivational graphics on Pinterest and I try to check in there for inspo at least once a day.

TikTok – I just started using TikTok and it is so fun! It’s very easy to get caught up in watching nonsense videos for hours though.

Youtube – I almost always put on a Youtube video when I’m doing my hair and makeup. I like to watch vlogs and blogging tips videos so that I’m learning something while putting on my mascara.

Photo Editing

VSCO – VSCO has been a favourite for photo editing for years. It’s so easy and has great filters. I typically use J5 or J6 when editing my photos for Instagram. I also used the grid to plan my Instagram posts.

Facetune – I pretty well only use Facetune to smooth blemishes or make my tan look a bit more vibrant, but it has tons of cool features that can help to clean up your photos.

Lightroom – If I can’t get the look that I want in VSCO, I edit my photos in Lightroom, and I often use this app to edit for the blog.

Retouch  – This app is the best I have found for removing things from you photos! So handy.

Organization & Work

LIKEtoKNOW.it/rewardStyle – I use the LIKEtoKNOW.it app for all kinds of shopping. I particularly like it for searching for gifts for people. I use the rewardStyle app for the backend of LIKEtoKNOW.it to share my outfits, beauty products and wish list items for you to shop as well!

Google Analytics – I obsessively check my blog analytics to understand who is here, what you’re reading and more. It’s a great way to get to know more about my audience and keep up with my stats.

Google Calendar – I keep all important appointments and must-do items in Google Calendar. I check the calendar every morning to see if I have anything specific going on that day, and I like to keep Kirby’s schedule in there as well.

Gmail – I use Gmail for both my blog and my freelance work. It’s my favourite email platform to use!

Wave – Wave is an app that I use for quoting and invoicing projects for my freelance business. I pop in and out of it to send invoices and mark payments.

Fitness

SWEAT – This has quickly become one of my favourite fitness apps! I am currently doing the BBG 1.0 program in the app. I love that the workouts are scheduled out for you. I wrote a whole blog post about my thoughts on this app and program that you can read here.

Nike Training Club – Nike Training Club has some great workouts to choose from. I like to use this app for short, 15-20 minute workouts when I can squeeze it in.

Nike Run Club – I use this app whenever I’m going on a run to track my pace and route. I have also used the guided run feature and love having a coach in my ear while I run – or attempt to run.

My Water – I love this app for reminding me to drink water! I track the amount of water that I drink throughout the day, and the app reminds me when I need to drink some more.

Each of these phone apps has made my life much smoother and better organized. I have a good routine with the help of these apps and I’m always excited to find others that help me with time management, fitness or just wasting time (I’m looking at you Words with Friends).
