I Just Can’t Quit Blogging

Hi, friends.

It’s been a while. A long while. If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember that in late 2022, I shared that I was going to say goodbye to SammmyHill.com. My creative agency, Sammy Hill Creative, was growing very quickly and taking up a lot of my time. Outside of work, I was trying (and still am trying) to find some balance with family, friends, self-care, and fun. My blog had sat on the back burner for a long time, and I felt like I should just let it go rather than pay to keep it alive.

With just a few days left before hosting on my website was about to end, I couldn’t bring myself to let it go. I couldn’t stop thinking about all of the hours that I had put into this little corner of the Internet, the investments that I had made, and the meaningful words and stories that lived within these pages. It feels like a piece of me that I just can’t let go of. Not yet, anyway.

I have no idea how often I’ll be sharing posts here on the blog, but I am happy to still have a place to share my thoughts, feelings, lessons, favourite products, and make connections with all of you. Even if it costs a pretty penny.

A lot of bloggers out there like to say that their blog is for their audience, and maybe for some it is, but I’m going to be a little bit selfish and say that this space is mostly for me. Don’t get me wrong, I hope that you find value in these pages, but I’ve come to realize that I need this digital journal as a form of self-expression and a place to store memories.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for listening to my little rant. I hope that I’ll be able to share more here moving forward, starting with:

Life Lately

What’s been happening lately? So much that I can barely keep it together – lol.

We just returned from an incredible Disneyland trip, which I will share details on in another blog post, and I am feeling more inspired than ever. Disney magic will do that to you! Mara had such a wonderful time and Kirby and I both shed a few tears seeing our girl experience such a magical place.

We came home to straight chaos, as we recently sold our first home and purchased a fixer-upper on the other side of town. The new house needs a facelift, but we liked the layout, the yard, and the price, so it made sense for us right now. I’ll be sharing more details on the renovation here and on Instagram, but we are starting with putting up a new fence and renovating the main bathroom. We’re slowly moving in and will be out of our current house entirely by the end of April!

Sammy Hill Creative has been buzzing and busy for months now. We’re working on solid systems and attracting projects that we are super passionate about. I invested in mentorship recently to give myself the support and kick in the ass that I need to push the limits on Sammy Hill Creative and what we can build there. We have a lot of exciting things coming down the pipeline!

I turn 31 in a couple of weeks and I have barely processed that due to all of the craziness going on! Life is never boring, and for that, I’m grateful. I can’t wait to share more lifestyle and fashion content again, as well as home renovations and behind-the-scenes of a creative agency.

I promise future blog posts will not be so all over the place and will actually have a purpose, but I just had to get my thoughts to the keyboard.

Talk soon!

Sammy
