It’s the most spooky time of the year! I’ve shared my love for cute and creepy Halloween decor before, but this year I’m stepping up my game. I’ve done some serious pinning on Pinterest and saving content on Instagram to inspire the vibe for decorating for Halloween, and I think I have some fun tricks up my sleeve!
I was surprised to see when I polled my IG community that half of them don’t decorate for Halloween. I personally find it super fun and it gets me into the seasonal mood. Now that Mara is here, I’m looking forward to making Halloween fun for her and coming up with some fun and creative costumes.
This is how I’m decorating for Halloween this year.
+ Hang witch hats from the ceiling using fishing wire and clear tacks
+ Place stick on bats all over the fireplace
+ Utilize amber bottles and glassware of various shapes and sizes for a ‘potions’ vibe
+ Cover open shelving with faux spider webs
+ Style books with dark spines, skeletons and black, white and dark green pumpkins around the house
+ Lighting tall white candles scattered across the coffee table
+ Adding festive candy dishes for something to indulge in
I don’t typically decorate outside the house because we don’t get trick-or-treaters at our house, but I love to decorate inside for a spooky vibe for the season.
I hope that Mara appreciates my passion for decorating for Halloween! I totally decorated my own bedroom for Halloween when I was younger and I wonder if she’ll do the same.
