Bump Style: My Version of Maternity Fashion

So here I am thinking that I’m small and probably won’t need to think about maternity fashion until baby is close to arriving… well, I was wrong. By the end of the first trimester, my jeans would not button up and nothing was comfortable except my favourite Aerie leggings. So, here we are, talking about bump style long before I had anticipated it!

Winter Bump Style

It’s damn cold right now, so it’s not realistic for me to wear dresses or skirts, but luckily, my Aerie leggings are doing the trick. I think I’ll need a few more pairs to get me through pregnancy (so I’m not wearing the same pair each day), and I love that they are thinner and lightweight and have a high waist band with no stitching at the top!

I’m also bundling up in oversized sweatshirts and sweaters because 1. they’re on trend and 2. they more than cover the growing bump. If I feel like ‘dressing up’ for the home office, I’ll grab an oversized flannel instead.

All about oversized right now – see you next year crop tops!

Spring Bump Style

Once it warms up a bit, I’m excited to step up my bump style with cute, body hugging dresses and skirts. I’ve been saving all the cute pregnancy outfit inspo from bloggers that live in warmer climates for this exact time, and so many of those outfits include bump-flattering dresses and midi skirts.

I’m thinking bike shorts may also be a winner for this season? Possibly paired with some oversized graphic tees? I’ll keep you posted on that one.

Summer Bump Style

One thing that I know for sure is that I will likely live in a bikini come the third trimester. It just sounds like the easiest thing to wear when you’re 28+ weeks pregnant and it’s hot outside. Since I’m lucky enough to work from home, you can probably find me in my backyard this summer working on my laptop in a lounge chair, sipping a mocktail and sporting a classic bikini!
