So we’ve been in quarantine like three years now right? Feels like it sometimes! Kirby and I love to spend time together, but when you’re stuck in a house together almost 24/7, it can be easy to settle into routine and let the romance disappear. If you want to spice up your relationship in quarantine, read on for my tips!
Create a routine that you can do together
It doesn’t matter if it’s a regular morning walk, a standing lunch date or committing to watching a new TV series together (we’re loving The Umbrella Academy right now!), having a routine that you can do together can make quarantine much more enjoyable. Commit to your ritual of choice and don’t let each other down.
Get dressed up now and then
One of the perks of quarantine has definitely been the ability to wear loungewear 24/7, but it’s good to change out of your sweats once in a while and dress up for each other. Comfort is nice, but wearing a new dress and seeing your man’s eyes light up is better IMO.
At least once or twice a week, I like to put on a new dress, do my hair and makeup. Honestly, it’s for both Kirby and I. He loved this dress in particular!
Do daily tasks together
If you’re both home, you might as well team up on the daily tasks and make them more enjoyable. Cook new meals together, tackle cleaning as a duo and care for your yard as a team. Not only does this make life more efficient, but it can be fun to add your unique dynamic to mundane tasks.
Kirby and I can’t wait to cook together in our new kitchen! Definitely want to try this recipe ASAP. When we clean the floors, he vacuums and I follow with the mop. He mows the lawn and I pull weeds, and of course, we crank our favourite music and make it a party for two!
Take time to be apart
It’s definitely not easy to get away from each other during quarantine, but missing each other a little is good for keeping your relationship spicy. I give Kirby a hard time for having so many activities, but I know that it’s good for him to get outdoors and play soccer or golf without me (while staying socially distanced of course). It’s good for me to get out of the house for a hike without him now and then too. I love spending time with him, but it’s even better when we’ve been doing our own thing for a while. it makes you appreciate your partner more.
HOT TIP: Don’t do a renovation together when you’re trying to keep things spicy – lol. Kirby and I are happy that we’ve renovated our kitchen, but it has been exhausting and may quarantine arguments have centered around the remodel. If I were starting quarantine all over again, I think I’d wait on the kitchen reno and focus on spending quality time with my man.
