Spring Layers That Will Keep You Warm + Complete Your Outfit

Spring is just around the corner and I’m obviously jumping at the chance to pull out my denim shorts, t-shirts, and tank tops, but like, it’s still chilly. Luckily, there are a ton of great spring layers out right now that will not only keep you warm but add to or totally complete your outfit.

Here are a few spring layers that I’ve added to my closet.

Quilted Jacket

The quilted jacket is such a cool and practical style, I’m so glad this is ‘in’ right now. These jackets block out that spring wind and totally elevate your athleisure looks. If you’re going out grocery shopping or to school pickup, add this layer to your sweatshirt, leggings, crew socks, sneakers, and slicked back bun for a cool update.

Trench Coat

I’m in shock that I got on board with trench coats. There is a fine line between cool ways to wear a trench coat and detective vibes. I like to pair mine with some flared or straight-leg pants for a unique balance of proportion.

Denim Jacket

Such a classic – if you don’t have a denim jacket, how to do get by? Cropped styles are not as chic these days, oversized is in. I wear my under $50 oversized denim jacket from Amazon constantly. It’s such an easy layer to add to most casual outfits. I love this style with a matching knit set or a matching sweat set.

Shacket

We all love shackets, we all probably have too many at this point, but what’s one more? Like the denim jacket, this is a very versatile style that completes many outfits. Not sure what to wear? Straight leg jeans, t-shirt, shacket. Done.

My favourite shacket is the Ganna Jacket from Aritzia, but I also really like this shacket that is under $100.

Blazer

Not necessarily classified as a jacket, the blazer is still a great layer for spring temps. When you need to finish your outfit or just need an extra layer to combat the chill, an oversized blazer is a great piece to have on hand. Drape this baby over your shoulders with a pretty mini dress for a night out or throw it on with a t-shirt and some relaxed fit trousers for a cool, yet laidback, street style look.
