‘Tis the season to spread joy and when you buy a gift from a small business, you can feel good knowing that you’re spreading joy to the gift receiver and to the people behind that small shop. If you need some ideas, I’m sharing a small shop holiday gift guide to get you started!
Here are a couple of great gifts from small shops to add to your shopping list.
+ An amazing smelling candle from Okanagan Candle Co. would be a great gift for your mom, sister or friend! These soy wax candles are hand-poured in the Okanagan and come in a variety of great scents. I’ve been lighting the Winter scent to suit the vibe of the season!
+ Bode Goods creates cool maps that make for great wall art and can ignite special memories. I know that my parents or grandparents would love a map of their hometown or the area that they grew up to hang on the wall. We have one of Bode Goods Kelowna maps in Mara’s nursery and we plan to put little stickers on spots in town that are important to us!
+ I’m definitely biased on this one, but I think that the Sammy Necklace from Lavender & Grace would be a wonderful gift to treat a special lady in your life to! This necklace was designed to offer a touch of luxury, but be understated enough to wear every day.
+ If someone on your list loves plants and home decor (let’s be honest, we all have that person on our list), Better Earth Gardens has tons of great gifts to shop! I have planters from Better Earth in many corners of my home (some for plants, some to house my coffee pods – lol) and I think that their home decor selection is perfect for gift shopping.
+ Can’t forget the littles! Lolo and Spence has the most dreamy selection of baby and kids’ clothes and toys, and they recently added a few women’s items as well. I love to find cute outfits for Mara there, and I picked up a cute top for my niece for Christmas!
+ As excited as I am for Mara’s first Christmas, I’m actually just as excited for Fenn’s! The pups will have a number of gifts under the tree from Tail Blazers this year. They stock the best treats, toys and gear for Fenn and Odie. Our favourites are the puzzle toys!
