Mara is going to be a month old at the end of this week and I feel like we’re now finding our groove and getting a handle on what our newborn essentials are. The first couple of weeks when I was barely able to stand, I went crazy thinking about all of the things in the nursery that we had bought or been gifted that we hadn’t even pulled out yet!
I’ve been asked a few times about registry recommendations as well, and we didn’t do a registry, but I feel like these newborn essentials would all be great to include on your registry! Here are the items we’ve been loving for Mara.
+ bbLuv Trimö / If you have any idea how sharp newborn nails are, you’ll get this one. The Trimö is a nail file that comes with four file heads, each suited to different ages for baby.
+ Moses Basket with Stand / Mara has spent a good chunk of time in her bassinet! The one that we got is just $150 for the whole thing and does exactly what we need it to. She will grow out of it quickly though! Here is the basket and the stand.
+ Footed Onesies with Foldover Mitts / We got a ton of these footed onesies for Mara and they are under $15. She has been scratching her face pretty good and absolutely hates the scratch mitts, so the foldover mitts on these outfits are perfect.
+ Baby Brezza / Obviously not for everyone, but if you are feeding baby formula, this is a must-have. The Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advance makes a bottle at the perfect temperature in seconds. It’s like a Nespresso for formula.
+ Bottle Sanitizer / We tried sanitizing bottles ourselves for the first week and it was too painful for my mom to watch, so she grabbed us this bottle sanitizer. It definitely helps speed things up!
+ Burp Cloths / These burp cloths are pretty important. There is a lot of spit – like a lot.
+ Bouncer / When I’m trying to keep Mara awake for a little bit and can’t hold her, I put her in the BABYBJÖRN bouncer and she just chills! It’s awesome.
+ Car Seat / We got the Nuna Pipa Car Seat and we love it! It’s easy to use, safe and looks great too. We opted not to buy the Lite version because it couldn’t be used without the base, whereas the regular seat can be.
Each of these items has been so useful in Mara’s first few weeks, so I would definitely argue that these are newborn essentials.
