We’re skipping the parties and trick-or-treating this year and spending Halloween at home. But that doesn’t mean we won’t be celebrating the spooky season!
I plan on making a tasty treat and curling up in front of the fire to watch all of the Halloweentown movies. So cheesy, but so good.
Here are 10 things to do on Halloween at home.
Curl up for a Halloween movie marathon
I can’t do scary movies, but I love a good Halloween-themed flick! Check out this post on some of my favourite Halloween movies for people who hate horror. It’s Casper the Friendly Ghost for me.
Curate a spooky Halloween playlist
My dad (who some of my friends still call ‘DJ Dad’ because he likes to make sick beats) used to do this every year for Halloween. He would make a Halloween themed playlist and play it through a speaker at the front door for trick-or-treaters. Don’t forget the classics; Thriller, Monster Mash, Disturbia, Superstition and Hungry Like The Wolf are some of my faves!
Make a creepy and delicious treat
There are so many fun recipes on Pinterest for Halloween treats, both relatively healthy and full of sugar. How cute are these little apple and strawberry monsters?!
Paint your pumpkins
Skip the mess of carving this year and paint your pumpkins instead! My carvings never turn out how they are supposed to anyway, so this makes a lot of sense in my household.
Mix yourself a creepy cocktail
Jillian Harris shared this Mystical Black Widow Cocktail and I am obsessed. A cool cocktail to sip on while you watch a spooky movie – sounds like a recipe for a great Halloween at home to me.
Let’s play a game
This one would be so fun: try to make a costume using only items you find around your house. And try to be a bit more creative than a TP mummy, please!
What do you have planned for Halloween this year? Will you be getting into the spirit at home?
