Shorts weather is finally here in Kelowna and I am pumped! Lounging in the backyard in the sunshine is definitely one of my favourite pastimes, and comfortable shorts are a must when the temps start climbing.
I started stocking up on cute pairs of shorts for spring over a month ago, and they’ve mostly been sitting in my closet just waiting for their debut! The wait is over and I think it’s time to retire my sweatpants for the season. (LOL JK, sweats are a year-round staple!)
Here are a few of my favourite styles of short for spring!
Denim Boyfriend Shorts
I’m not going to lie, I struggle to find higher rise denim shorts that fit me well. I’ve tried on so many pairs and been disappointed many times, but I finally found the right fit for me: Boyfriend Shorts! I love the length of this style and I will be grabbing a few more pairs before this spring/summer is over.
Denim Short Shorts
I still love me some short shorts. My favourite pair of shorts ever are my Bandits from One Teaspoon. Itty bitty denim shorts, low rise and they hang just perfectly.
Belted Shorts
I purchased my first pair of belted shorts this year and they are perfect for dressing up an outfit. Denim and lounge shorts look so casual, but these belted shorts add a bit of polish to an outfit. I like to pair mine with a cropped top so that you can see the high waisted belt.
Bike Shorts
I tried my first pair of bike shorts on four times before I actually pulled the trigger and bought them. I wasn’t sure if they worked on me, but now I wear them almost every day. I add an oversized tee or sweatshirt and sneakers to pull it all together.
Lounge Shorts
This style needs no explanation. Everyone is getting comfy in loungewear these days, and a good pair of lounge shorts are great for believe it or not, lounging in. They are not just for sleeping in!
Athletic Shorts
Having worked at lululemon for years, many of my spring outfits included a pair of athletic shorts. I like to run and workout in them, but I also wear them to BBQs, hanging out in the yard and running errands. They may not be the most stylish pair of shorts, but they are comfortable!
